Just to clarify, mystery prizes are randomly drawn out of a pool of preselected prizes ranging from plastic cups to various gift cards, iPods and hundreds of dollars in cash.
How do you guys like Mystery prizes so far? More exciting than knowing what the prizes are before hand? Send us some feedback or give some suggestions on what we should throw into the prize pool. We got plenty of useful & valuable prizes to giveaway to help all you college students service a recession…
For many people, politics is all about bashing the opposition. We are supporting this great American tradition with a new contest to smack talk the candidates. We’re taking a bi-partisan approach to this issue… so let Obama or McCain know how you feel. The best smack talk (as determined by you) wins a big $200 cash prize. The contest ends on election day.
Many of you may have noticed that the daily prize has been a bit less predictable the last few days. Instead of the regular $100 prize every day, we’re keeping you on your toes a bit more by choosing a different prize for each contest. I once heard that variety is the spice of life, so we are attempting to apply a bit of this logic to GetHundos. Look out for a range of cash prizes from $10 up to $250, a range of products, gift cards, and a few mystery prizes.
We’ll mix it up for the next month. Based on your feedback and participation, we’ll either continue with variety or shift back to a conisistent $100 daily prize. Let us know what you think.
The number of winners is starting to pile up. Recent winner cashews is posing with his check above. Cashews is also currently #2 on the top players list with just over 3,000 hundos. Zyuri was the first to break the 3,000 hundos barrier last week.
If you have won on GetHundos, remember to send a photo flossin your recent take. Email us at info@gethundos.com.
1.) Product Reviews: Cell Phones. Which cell phone is mostly likely to get you laid? why? Dynamic Prize: $50 + $1 added per entrant!
This is a week long “product review” contest. We’re using one metric to compare cell phones… which is most likely to get you laid? Also, for the first time in GetHundos history, the prize is dynamic. For each person that enters the prize will increase by $1. Now there are two good reasons to bring your friends in on the action: 1.) you can get them to supervote you; and 2.) they will help make the prize better for everyone.
2.) The Wii Contest: What is the next big Nintendo Wii game? Prize: Nintendo Wii.
We’ve heard from a few of you that video games are popular, so we’re giving away a brand new Wii. The challenge is to submit your best ideas for a new Wii game. This contest ends on 10/21 to give you enough time to get your voting strategy ready for the big prize.
Following the conclusion of the first presidential debate we asked our community to rate each of the candidates “doucheyness” on a scale of 1 to 10. The results of this study are analyzed in the chart below. It appears that both presidential candidates are douchebags, but the majority believe that John McCain is a bigger douchebag than Barack Obama.
Interested to better understand the rational for these ratings? Here are a few of the explanations given:
For those of you waiting in suspense to see the contents of the mystery bag. Here it is. Let us know in the comments if you enjoyed the mystery bag and we’ll do more in the future.
It was an exciting fight to the finish in this contest. Captainofcrunch was able to edge out jaspitzer’s classic Dave Chappelle video and cashews‘ shout out to Bernie Mac. Here is the winning video… Demetri Martin with his visual aids, very funny stuff:
In honor of the first presidential debate tomorrow, we’re throwing in a couple contests to help make the debates more fun. Both will be in the traditional GetHundos format - $100 cash prizes for the entry with the most votes.
Pre-Debate Contest: (Starts 9/25 at 10pm and ends 9/26 at 10pm)
What question would you most like to ask one of the candidates? Which candidate?
Post-Debate Contest: (Starts 9/26 at 10pm and ends 9/27 at 10pm)
Based on the debate, rate each of the candidate’s “doucheyness” on a scale of 1 to 10. Please explain your rating.
Note: If McCain continues to hold out and the debate gets delayed, then we’ll delay the second contest.
We’re mixing it up a bit with this new contest. First off, rather than competing on your clever one-liners, we’re asking you to submit your favorite stand-up comedy video clips. Literally any stand-up comedy that you find on youtube is fair game.
The other twist: rather than the traditional $100 prize, the winner will get a “mystery bag” of cool products. We’ll post the contents of the mystery bag after the contest ends.
